Commissions

What do our commissions do?

Student Senate has ten commissions under the supervision and direction of the President, Vice President, and Personnel Director. These groups are dedicated to studying issues that affect our campus and making recommendations to Student Senate concerning events, rules, and pieces of legislation. Much of the legislation voted on by Student Senate at our weekly General Assembly meetings originates from these commissions.

What does commission membership look like?

Each of our commissions is chaired by a director who is responsible for the agendas, minutes, meeting time, meeting place, chair appointments, and recruitment of regular commission members.

Any student is eligible to join a commission and be a productive and valued member. All meetings are open to the public and all students are welcome and encouraged to attend.
