The Intergovernmental Affairs Commission (IGA) serves as a liaison between the UW-Eau Claire student body and various levels of government. We represent and advance the interests of UWEC students in order to ensure that their voices are heard where it matters the most.
Every other spring, UWEC Student Senate's Intergovernmental Affairs works hard to plan a lobbying trip to Madison.
On this trip, Student Senators and students are organized into groups, which are then scheduled to meet with legislators at the capitol to discuss big issues and topics on campus and lobby for changes that they would like to see.
This spring, Intergovernmental Affairs is meeting weekly in Davies Center in Chancellors Conference Room (311) on Wednesdays at 4:15 PM.
Anyone is welcome and encouraged to come to any of our meetings with any ideas, comments, or questions they may have! You do not need to be a member of Student Senate or interested in joining Student Senate to be a part of one of our commissions. In fact, we prefer a range of opinions and points of view across our commission members!
