One of the major benefits of FMA is the opportunity to pick the brains of individuals you might not ordinarily get to speak with. One example is Cody Key, the FP&A and Investor Relations for Kwik Trip. He came in to speak with the group about the Corporate Finance, such as what tasks he performs most often, where he started and what he looks for in workers. This provides the perfect chance to get an insider's look on how recruiters weed out potential candidates. As well as a chance to introduce yourself to some powerful people in business.
During first semester we were given the opportunity to visit UBS and US Bank in Minneapolis, MN. We took this opportunity to make connections and hear personal stories from those who work at those companies. This is just one example of the connections that you are able to form when joining our club.
Once aspect of FMA that we have devoted more time towards recently is the social side. During first semester, we had two socials including a movie night and game night. As well as a Friendsgiving hosted separately from the usual meeting. With these events we look to create a bond between our members that lasts beyond their time in FMA.
