Stop by Multicultural Student Services (Cent. 1106) for a quick spruce up by our mobile barber! In collaboration with The Dean of Students, we are pleased to offer free barbering services for UWEC students. Barbers work primarily with clippers to blend, fade, and shave hair. They do not use scissors, thus this is not a service for students with longer hair, unless you are looking to make a drastic change.
We are lucky enough to have two barbers from ClipDart, who are available via appointment or walk-in! Stop by the office to make an appointment or check them out!
Join MSS for an open-house style get together in Centennial 1106! Open to students, staff, and faculty as an opportunity to get together in the MSS space!
To start off Hmong Heritage Month in April, we will have the honor of hosting a night with Kao Kalia Yang at the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire. Kao Kalia Yang is a Hmong American author, a librettist, public speaker, teacher and a writer of memoir, and children’s literature. She is the author of "The Latehomecomer," which won two Minnesota Book Awards—for memoir/creative nonfiction, and the Reader's Choice Award in 2009. Join us for an opportunity to listen to Kao Kalia Yang talk about her personal experiences of becoming the writer she is today, and about her aspirations for her line of work and her continued advocacy as a trail blazer for Asian Americans. There will also be an opportunity to talk and engage with Kalia during a Q&A session as well as book signing after the program. Come and learn what it means to write your own narrative with Kalia! You can purchase Kalia's two new books, "Where Rivers Part: A Story of My Mother's Life" and "The Rock in My Throat" before the start of the event if you would like to get them signed by her. The UWEC Bookstore Staff will be outside of Centennial 1614 from 5:45 through 6:15 for cash or check only sales.
