Homecoming Parade Sign Up 2025

Please fill out this contract if your organization/business is interested in participating in the 2025 Homecoming Parade for UW-Eau Claire.

Line up at 9:00 a.m.
The 2025 Homecoming Parade will march down Water Street at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 4th. The parade will disband in the Sonnentag Parking Lot.

Rules and Expectations for Participation

Below are the rules and expectations of participating in the UWEC Homecoming Parade. Please check ALL rules listed to demonstrate agreement and that you have read and understood the rules.

NO person or group may: *

Carry or consume any alcoholic beverages, of any kind, on or in parade units

Display or distribute signs, posters, banners, or slogans describing or inferring any alcoholic or tobacco products on or in parade units

Interfere with the procession or marching of another organization or group

Use water toys/cannons or silly string

Use firearms, noise makers, fireworks or any other dangerous devices

Floats/vehicles: *

Floats must be structurally sound and free from any hazards that may harm participants or spectators (including items extending from float)

Use of semi-trailers is NOT permitted

Vehicles must be properly licensed/insured and drivers have valid driver’s license. Vehicles must be driven at slow parade pace and should not deviate from designated parade route

Each organization or group will be assigned a parade position, contacting the Homecoming Committee by September 25 at 5:00pm to request exceptions

All floats must be fireproof and be dismantled and disposed of immediately following parade

General Safety: *

Walkers accompanying float must walk along the side of the vehicle (not in front or behind) and maintain distance of 10ft from vehicle when moving

Standing riders of floats should be provided acceptable support and away from edge of float. Riders should not get on or off float while moving

Other Requirements: *

Candy should be handed out in proximity to the sidewalk (away from the street) or lightly tossed to the ground toward sidewalk to avoid spectators running into the street. Groups are responsible for their own candy and other giveaways

All children in the parade, under the age of 18, must be accompanied by a parent

Sponsors to help financially are encouraged and may be advertised on floats. These sponsors may not be retailers or distributors of any sort of alcoholic or tobacco product.

Every person or group is expected to demonstrate civil, lawful behavior during the entire parade. Infractions will result in disqualification from current and future parades

City of Eau Claire and/or UWEC reserves the right in its sole discretion, at any time, and by any member of the parade management, the Fire Department or Police Department, to remove from the parade any group violating any of these rules.

In consideration for me to voluntarily participate in the 2025 Homecoming Parade, today and on all future dates, I, for myself, my heirs, personal representatives or assigns, agree to defend, hold harmless, indemnify and release the Board of Regents of the University of Wisconsin System, the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire , and their officers, employees, agents, and volunteers, from and against any and all claims, demands, actions, or causes of action of any sort on account of damage to personal property, or personal injury, or death which may result from my participation in this event.
