The Tale of Cabaret

The University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire Department of Music and Theatre Arts presents Cabaret Productions 2026: The Tale of Cabaret, running January 22–31, 2026 at the UWEC Davies Center.

Founded in 1978, Cabaret is an electrifying student-led production that brings together choirs, orchestra, theatre, and jazz ensembles for a bold, collaborative variety show filled with music, movement, and storytelling. The annual Cabaret Production empowers students to arrange, choreograph, collaborate, and stage a full-scale production from the ground up in under a year. Each year, a new theme brings a unique creative energy to the show, and in The Tale of Cabaret, each set will bring a different literary archetype to life.

Cabaret provides for our students a valuable practicum during their course of study at the university. Many of the students performing in this show are music majors who will need to produce musicals and variety shows during their professional career. Cabaret Productions has raised over $250,000 in support of on-going scholarships for dedicated music students. Enjoy the show and take advantage of the à la carte deli and dessert. Both open one hour before all shows and at intermission. À la carte items include croissant sandwiches, fresh fruit plates, cheese plates, desserts and a variety of hot and cold beverages. Wine and beer served at Thursday shows.
