This program is offered in partnership with Violins of Hope-Wisconsin presented by the Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra. Experience an unforgettable evening showcasing the Violins of Hope, instruments that bear witness to the strength of their Jewish history. These powerful symbols will be on display throughout the day, leading up to an evening event filled with poignant reflections and beautiful music. The evening will feature an insightful talk by Jess Monson, Teaching Fellow of the Holocaust Education Resource Center, shedding light on a crucial period in history.
The program culminates in a moving performance by the Cohen String Quartet, who will present Ullmann’s powerful String Quartet No. 3 and Schulhoff’s vibrant Alla Tango milonga from Five Pieces for String Quartet. The first movement from Johannes Brahms's String Quintet No. 1 in F major, Op. 88 will also be performed, creating a program that bridges past and present through the universal language of music.
