The Wind Symphony and Symphony Band kick-off the 103rd season of the UW-Eau Claire Band program with our October 10th concert in RCU Theatre. The bands will perform a variety of standard and contemporary compositions including the consortium premiere of Joseph Schwantner’s Fast Track featuring Dr. Jeffery Crowell on percussion, Tour de Force by Jim Self, and Threnody by James Bonney.

Guest soloist Jim Self:
Jim Self is a Los Angeles-based tubist and composer known for his extensive work in both studio recordings and live performances. He's performed on over 1500 film soundtracks, including iconic solos in movies like "Jurassic Park", "Wall-E," "Avatar," "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" and "Home Alone." He's a regular performer with the Pacific and Pasadena Symphonies, the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, and the Los Angeles Opera.
