Through understanding the process of creating laug nraaj (batik), we see how

Hmong people have been scientists/chemists, engineers, and artists for hundreds of

years. In this workshop, we will learn about how Hmong people grow, extract, and

process indigo (nkaj/nkaaj) for laug nraaj. Participants will have the opportunity to create

their own indigo-dyed batik art piece using traditional Hmong tjanting tools (diav).
