Join us for a special lunchtime conversation exploring one of the most enduring—and contested—concepts in American life: religion. What did the Founders mean when they spoke of religion, and how has that understanding evolved in today’s cultural, legal, and intellectual landscape?

This engaging discussion brings together three distinctive voices. Jeffrey Rosen, CEO emeritus of the National Constitution Center and professor of law at The George Washington University, is one of the nation’s leading interpreters of constitutional thought and the intellectual world of the Founding era. Lauren Coyle Rosen, an award-winning author, artist, and cultural anthropologist, offers a rich, interdisciplinary perspective on spirituality, culture, and human meaning. Adam Kunz, assistant professor at UW–Eau Claire, brings his expertise on religious freedom, tolerance, and the boundaries of belief in modern society.

Together, they will examine how ideas of religion have shaped American constitutional principles—and how those ideas continue to evolve today.

Free and open to the public.
