Dr. Katherine Cramer is the Virginia Sapiro Professor of Political Science and Natalie C. Holton Chair of Letters & Science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison .Renowned for her innovative approach to studying public opinion, Dr. Cramer’s work delves into how people in the United States perceive politics, their communities, and their governments. Her award-winning book, The Politics of Resentment: Rural Consciousness in Wisconsin and the Rise of Scott Walker, is a seminal resource for understanding the rural-urban divide in the U.S. and beyond.



Dr. Cramer's unique method of immersing herself in group conversations to capture authentic public sentiment has garnered significant acclaim. She is also a co-founder of the Local Voices Network and a fellow of several prestigious academies, including the American Academy of Political and Social Sciences and the American Academy of Arts & Sciences.
