This event will feature a conversation with Yascha Mounk, one of the world’s leading voices on the future of liberal democracy. Drawing on his acclaimed book "The Identity Trap", Mounk will explore how societies can embrace diversity while preserving the values of freedom, equality, and shared citizenship. He will examine the impact of identity-based movements on public discourse, the rise of political polarization, and the challenges facing democratic institutions today.

The conversation will offer students, faculty, and community members a unique opportunity to engage with Mounk’s research and ideas about building a pluralistic democracy that resists authoritarian populism while protecting universal human rights. The event will be free and open to the public, livestreamed, and recorded for wider access.
